I've finished spinning the yarn for my daughter's bridal shawl. I've got 845 yards, 4.3 ounces of two-ply merino/silk laceweight yarn. Now to find a pattern.
Wow, you spun so much on a drop spindle! That would have taken me months without my wheel. So glad to see you've updated again - I love following your adventures :D
I'm impressed - I hope you find a good pattern. I would love to spin some laceweight yarn for a fine, lacy shawl. I've been debating whether do this on the wheel or drop spindle. Your photo is an inspiration for drop spindle spinning.
Hi Maddie and Liz! Thanks so much for dropping by. It went much faster with the drop spindle than I thought it would. The pattern that I finally chose is the Alberta Shawl which can be found on Ravelry. Guess what? I'm almost finished with it!
