Cupid and Psyche

Here is a sculpture, found in the Louvre, depicting the main characters in one of my favorite mythological tales, that of Cupid and Psyche:

A beautiful sculpture for what is both a beautiful and, in some ways, sad story - even Cupid had troubles with love. But it has a happy ending.

It is a sad story, in a way. Beautiful!

Hi Sherry!

It's sad that Venus and the jealous sisters couldn't leave something beautiful alone. But at least C & P are back together in the end.

I hope I can take a leisurely stroll through the Louvre some day...last time I was there with two small children and one got lost. I barely remember seeing art after that!
Gorgeous sculpture.

Hi adrienne!

Yikes! I trust you found the one who got lost : )

We heard that if you were to view one object every three seconds, it would take about three months, 24-7, to see everything in the Louvre.
