A few specific pics of my Hoosier cabinet for a fellow owner

This post is for a person who is fixing up an old Hoosier cabinet which is just like mine. They requested a few specific pictures to help with their restoration, so here they are:

Here, I've put a dark color behind the glass to make the etching stand out more:

This one is looking up from below the sifter in its pulled-out position, just so that you could see sort of how it's attached (don't mind the weird patch in the lower right corner, that's where I did a botch job of removing my face from the picture (this was barely after my morning cup if coffee, not a pretty sight):

If you'd like more pictures, let me know!

Hi there! Just bought a Helmers. Have no info on the manufacturer either. Looking to restore ours and the pics of the flour sifter and door hardware is great. Fortunetly, ours isn't painted and maintains its original finish. Plus, original 2 glass panes. We replaced the misisng one by taking an old one to a glass shop. Glad to be able to use your pics. :-)

Hi there- I have the exact same Helmers Hoosier that I am fixing up, although mine was painted and very weathered (spent a few years outdoors), so I'm forced to paint it--but it's cleaning up nicely! Anyway, mine does not have the flour dispenser. Do you have any ideas about where I could find one? Also, could you post a picture of the whole thing. Mine is literally in pieces and I'm not exactly sure how it's supposed to go together in the end. I love your door hardware. I am cleaning up the original hinges but would like to replace the pulls with something similar to what you have here. Anyway, thanks for posting! I've had a heck of a time finding any information about Helmers.

I have two pictures of the whole cabinet in this post: http://inconsequentialblogger.blogspot.com/2008/07/hoosier-cabinet.html

If you need something more, please let me know, and good luck with your restoration!

Hi again Kelly!

I forgot to say that I'm sorry but I don't have any ideas on where to get a flour sifter : (
