Mega Mutant Dandelions

We're in trouble if these things ever take over. I've noticed them in the park next door when walking the dog (click on the first photo for the full effect):

On a brighter note, here's an aerial view of the dogwood at the corner of my house:

I leaned out of an upper story window to snap the photos:

Dogwoods always remind me of clouds.

I actually like dandelions, but those are scary.
Careful leaning out the window - that might look nice and fluffy...

Hi adrienne!

I love dandelions when they are in bloom, just not when they reach the puff stage : )

And I had to stop my cat from jumping out of the window after I took the screen off to snap the pictures. Sheesh.

What you saw is an example of a phenomenon going by the name of fasciation.
Take a look
hereI am surprised to see that this is now a global phenomenon and blame it on getting our wires crossed by all the digits floating through the ether.
Same for bees and their recent troubles: if all that electro magnetic smog upsets my system to such an extent, imagine what it must be doing to tender critters like bees and plants.

Hi Jo!

What a fascinating fasciation post. Thatnks for the link.

All I can say when I see those dandelions is, "Yikes!"
